4th of July Chicken Fly

On the 4th, the family and I headed west to Guffey with some friends for our first ever “Chicken Fly” It was a lot of fun! We entered the chicken fly contest and also the chicken drop. The fly consists of choosing a real live chicken from the coop, climbing up a 10′ platform, placing your chicken in a mailbox and shoving it out with a plunger to see how far it flies! Ours first landed on the platform itself, so we had to redo the fly (poor chicken!) After we pushed it a 2nd time, it went only 6ft! The farthest fly was 35′6”! The 2nd game we played, chicken drop, was a large chicken coop with numbers written on the floor. If the chicken pooped on your number, you won $50!!! What fun! Cody loved petting the chicken, although he did cry when it didn’t go very far! *Note: No Chickens are harmed in the fly or the pooping. Thanks.
