Last night I found myself at WITS END trying to entertain my son during a good-bye dinner for one of my friends. The only things available within reach were:
-glass of water
-napkin
-hot wings
-baby toys
After eliminating the napkin and, of course, the hot wings, I then tried his toys. That wasn’t working either because they ended up across the table. SO…water it is! He took a few sips and loved it, so that helped! He also made a grab for the celery sticks on the hot wing plate which (had I not been quick enough) he would have had! But then…it struck me! Somewhere, sometime, I had read or heard about a mom who let her little one chew on carrot and celery sticks to help him with teething. Both of which we had readily available on the hot wing plate. After searching them for ANY signs of hot wing sauce, I slowly introduced him to the veggie sticks, and quickly, they turned into veggie pulp! He enjoyed them so much! It not only helped him relax and cure the hurting gums, but also allowed mom and dad a little more time with their friends. Mind you, a little.
